Cook: 45 mins
Yields: 10 Servings
- 3 c whole wheat flour
- 1 T baking powder
- 1 t salt
- 1/3 c light brown sugar
- 6 oz Stonyfield Organic Fat Free French Vanilla Yogurt
- 3/4 c light cherry pie filling
- 12 oz beer (or soda)
- 1 T butter (melted)
- white sugar (for sprinkling)
Preheat oven to 375°. Spray a loaf pan with cooking spray and set aside.
Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Add the yogurt and cherry pie filling, and carefully combine with dry ingredients. Slowly add beer, and mix everything together. The batter should remain lumpy.
Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and bake for 45 minutes. Leave oven on, but remove pan.
Spread the melted butter over the top of the loaf and then sprinkle with sugar. Place back into oven and bake an additional 15 minutes, or until you insert a toothpick into the center and it comes out dry.
Cool pan on wire rack and then remove bread from pan to continue cooling.
