We think about the impact of everything we do--from what’s in the cup and how it’s made, to how it gets to you. We don’t have all the answers, but we believe it’s important to take care of the world around us to make food that you can feel good about feeding your family.

Organic farming has always been at the heart of our Earth-friendly yogurt business. In one year alone, our organic ingredient purchases keep more than 185,000 pounds of toxic persistent pesticides from the air, water and land.

But Stonyfield’s Earth efforts reach far beyond organic farming. In fact, we don’t have a green team, we ARE a green team – with people across the business contributing to our mission.

First US manufacturer to offset all GHG emissions from facility energy use.

Installed, on our Yogurt Works roof, New Hampshire’s then largest photovoltaic solar array.

Our new wastewater treatment equipment converts waste into biogas.

Our new green office building uses 40% less energy than a similar building built to code.

We introduce the first yogurt cup made from plants.

Begin measuring life-cycle emissions of our products in real time. We now know the carbon footprints of all our products as we produce them.

Introduce the Farmer Training Program at Wolfe’s Neck Farm in Freeport, Maine to begin training organic dairy farmers closer to our home plant.

We don’t take packaging lightly

We spend an awful lot of time thinking about packaging around here. And it shows: from making cups from plants to cutting emission almost in half, we’ve done some pretty cool stuff.

Bananas with a slice of independence

What do you do when your organic banana growers have trouble getting their fruit to a remote processing plant? If you’re us, you help them build their own. Because these guys are totally worth it.

Go Bananas!

Jump starting the next generation of organic farmers
