This warm, baked apple topped with a maple yogurt sauce is a sweet seasonal treat that will warm your belly.

    Ingredients

  • 4 large tart apples (cored)
  • 1/4 c maple syrup
  • 1/2 c Stonyfield Organic Whole Milk Vanilla Yogurt
  • 1 t nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 T cinnamon
  • 1/4 c raisins
  • 1/2 c brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1 large tart apple (peeled and sliced)
  • 1/4 c water

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°.

Step 2

In a small bowl mix sliced apple, sugar and 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon.

Step 3

In another small bowl, mixture together raisins, brown sugar, nutmeg and remaining cinnamon.

Step 4

Make a shallow cut through skin all the way around center of each cored apple to prevent skin from bursting while baking.

Step 5

Place upright in a small square baking dish and spoon in raisin mixture into the center of each apple.

Step 6

Spoon sliced apples in empty space in dish around cored apples.

Step 7

Add water to bottom of dish.

Step 8

Bake uncovered for 30 - 45 minutes depending on firmness of apples.

Step 9

Apples are done when they feel tender when pierced with a toothpick.

Step 10

Combine yogurt and maple syrup and pour over the baked apples.
