Running on Team Stonyfield from our own Stonyfield family is Aura Huot. She is a hard-working, passionate friend who is always ready to lend a hand to anyone. Aura began running when she started at Stonyfield in 2011 and hasn’t stopped since. Her fervor for running began after her first race at The Stonyfield Earth Day 5k, and after 3 marathons she is looking at Boston for her fourth.
When asked what she loved most about working at Stonyfield, Aura emphasized that she enjoyed working on a team who all focused on producing the same goal, which was creating organic yogurt for our customers.
During the week you might find Aura running solo or with fellow Stonyfield runner friend, Kally, who was on Team Stonyfield in last year’s Boston Marathon. On the weekends they both mean business when they run with their fearless group of women runners called The Janes, who help each other prepare for upcoming races.
Running the Boston Marathon means so much to Aura:
“I’ve always wanted to be at the Boston Marathon ever since I can remember. The dream of the little Colombian girl being a spectator in this great event became a reality in 2014 Boston Marathon thanks to Stonyfield. It was so much fun and an event to remember. Today, I’m in the process of training to run The 2015 Boston Marathon on April 20th and I’m so grateful to have this opportunity.”
In Boston, Aura feels like she is at home, and she said she knows the streets there better than the ones in her hometown in NH. Aura continued saying, “When I first came in to USA I was in Boston a lot; picking up relatives at Logan Airport, Red Sox games, museums, and enjoying the beautiful city, so I needed to know where to go.” She loves running in the city and says it is “magical” when she gets a chance to do her runs down there.
Aura is looking forward to being cheered on by her fellow coworkers, as Stonyfield is all along the Boston Marathon route, her husband (her #1 race fan), her mother and her brother. Follow along Aura’s journey to the Finish Line online and lookout for bib# 29415 on the way!
