You had a great day at work, but you arrive home feeling like you’re in a funk. Maybe it was the drive. Or the heat. Know what will fix that? A yogurt smoothie bowl, of course! I’ve seen countless articles about these fascinating little bowls pop up into my different newsfeeds and never really understood the hype until I made one last night. Now I can’t stop.
First rule of yogurt smoothie bowls – there are no rules.
What types of smoothies do you like, Strawberry-Banana? Make it!
Cherry-Pomegranate with pistachio toppings? You daredevil, do it!
Whatever smoothie you want to have will be the base of this bowl. Just pour your smoothie in and top it with delightful things like coconut, nuts, spices, and sauces.
I wanted something fresh and cool last night, so I used a combination of frozen and fresh fruits. (Frozen fruits are often my favorite to use in the actual smoothie because then you don’t need ice, which tends to water down flavors.)
Berry Yogurt Smoothie Bowl
1 1/2 cups frozen organic blueberries
1 cup frozen organic raspberries
1 cup semi-chopped fresh organic strawberries
1 1/2 cups Coconut milk (you can use regular milk too)
Blend these until smooth. Pour into a bowl. Top with more fresh fruit (like those blueberries on top that I picked in the woods the other day!), chocolate, chia seed, and coconut to recreate this picture!
