The family farmers of Organic Valley/CROPP Cooperative, which supplies Stonyfield with organic milk for our products, have earned as much as 25% more per year than their nonorganic counterparts.
When we lose family farms, we take American food production out of the hands of family farmers and risk putting it into the hands of just a few big agribusinesses that may not treat animals humanely or the environment sustainably, and may value profits over human nutrition or food safety. Losing family farms also means our rural communities suffer economically, environmentally and culturally.
