Some ideas die hard. In a new international study, researchers determined that many women think that skipping meals is a good way to try to lose weight. The study was completed among women in New Zealand, but obesity experts worry that this may be a prevailing theory internationally. "It's very scary," Obesity Action Coalition executive director Celia Murphy said in this New Zealand Herald article. "That's the very way not to try to lose weight. It absolutely doesn't work."
The research which included this finding is part of a larger, international study designed to look at the connection between eating habits, beliefs, and obesity.
