Biscuits with Cheddar & jalapeño

An excellent accompaniment to any chowder. And with the jalapenos, these biscuits pack a spicy punch.

Ingredients

2cflour
14tspbaking soda
14cbutter
3tspbaking powder
1tspsalt
1cStonyfield Organic Low Fat Plain Yogurt
12ccheddar (grated)
12 jalapeño pepper (seeded & diced)

Directions

  1. Preheat over to 375°.

  2. In a bowl, sift together dry ingredients.

  3. Add butter, yogurt and mix well.

  4. Place dough on a board and punch flat.

  5. Knead in cheddar and diced jalapeño.

  6. Either roll to a 1-inch thickness and cut round biscuits using a cookie cutter, or make 2-inch balls and flatten.

  7. Place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until brown.

  8. Serve hot.
