Are you getting your omega-3s?
Our bodies don't produce essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, so it's important to be sure we're getting both in our diets to help support brain and heart health.
Omega-3 fatty acids include EPA and DHA, found naturally in fatty fish like tuna, salmon, herring and sardines, and ALA, found mostly in plant sources like walnuts, flax seed, canola and soybean oil and leafy greens. Milk from grass-fed cows also contains ALA.
Omega-6 fatty acids are easily found in corn, soy, safflower and cottonseed oils. Maybe too easily, because most Americans get too much omega-6s and not enough omega-3s, and nutritionists believe this dietary imbalance may explain the rise of many health problems.
Our Omega-3 Milk is a complete source of omega-3 nutrition. Because the organic cows that produce our milk are pasture-raised, the milk has naturally occurring ALA. We then add 50mg of DHA and EPA per serving, sourced from high-quality, sustainably sourced fish oil.
Finding the right source
While plant oils like flax contain beneficial ALA, our bodies can't convert it to EPA and DHA very efficiently, so it's best to get EPA and DHA directly from fish, foods fortified with fish oil, or fish oil supplements [1]. Our Omega-3 Milk provides both EPA and DHA from a wild-harvested and sustainable fish source.
And, while we add healthy omega-3s, we don't add any fish taste. You'll just taste pure, delicious, organic milk from pasture-raised, organic cows.
