We’re conducting an environmental pilot program with the new parking lot at our Yogurt Works. Half of the lot is made of a special permeable asphalt that lets storm water soak into the ground, replenishing groundwater and preventing erosion and flooding. If all goes well with our pilot, other businesses in our town may be allowed to build earth-friendly parking lots, too. Learn more about our environmental practices.

FromThePresidentsPastureSome Predictions (about the Future)
Yogi Berra was right; it’s difficult to make predictions, especially about the future. But I think the best way to predict the future is to invent it. By imagining what the future can hold, you take a first step toward making it a bright one.

I’ve made a few predictions about how we’re going to resolve the climate crisis. That’s right, I think we can and will resolve it. My wife calls me a “pathological optimist.” But, hey, this company started with just seven cows and a yogurt recipe and has grown into a $305 million business. That couldn’t have happened without optimism (and a lot of perseverance). So, here are a few of my predictions about the future: Read More

Ask Our Nutritionist
Look for answers to your nutrition questions on our Frequently Asked Questions page. If you can’t find your answers there, ask our nutritionist, Vicki Koenig! Here’s a question from one of our yogurt lovers, along with Vicki’s answer.

Is it possible to eat too much yogurt?
Only at the exclusion of other nutritious foods. You can eat yogurt in place of milk and other high quality proteins. The 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Healthy Americans recommends that you consume three daily servings of fat-free or low-fat milk products such as milk, yogurt and cheese. If you occasionally substitute yogurt for a significant protein source, you can add an additional serving.     -Vicki

Yogurt Lovers Rally for the Climate at Live Earth
Last month, we raffled off four sets of tickets to the Live Earth concert in New York. Jason Fiske of Midlothian, VA; Richard Samaha of Williamsburg, VA; Rebecca Shaw of Raring Springs, PA; and Linda DiCarlo of Massapequa, NY each won two tickets to what Jason says was one of the best shows he’s ever seen. “I put it up there with the Farm Aid [concert] I went to about six years ago,” says Jason.

Live Earth organizers say the seven-continent 24-hour concert rallied an unprecedented audience to help fight climate change. An official sponsor of Live Earth, we helped to publicize the event this spring with a Live Earth climate message printed on more than 8 million of our yogurt cup lids.
