Climate Counts On-the-Go Cell Phone Program

You can use your cell phone to check on company climate practices while you shop. Just text “cc” and the name of the company to 30644.* Climate Counts will text the company’s climate rank right back to you, and you’ll know whether you want to support that company with your purchase or not.

A nonprofit group spearheaded by Stonyfield Farm, Climate Counts evaluates and scores company efforts to stop climate change. Scores for Nike, Gap, Apple, Dell, PepsiCo, Burger King, Starbucks, Amazon, and 52 other companies are available online at ClimateCounts.org. And the Climate Counts site gives you an easy way to contact companies to let them know you’re paying attention to their climate practices.

The first text message you send to Climate Counts will automatically enroll you in the On-the-Go network. You’ll periodically receive messages that’ll tell you how you can use your cell phone to stop climate change. (You can unsubscribe at any time.)
