Winona
Howmars Farm
My name, "Winona," comes from the Dakota people. It means "daughter." That's an excellent name for me for two reasons. I was my mother Willa's first born, and I was also the first calf born on the farm using a special process to help ensure I was a girl!
We girls can help the farm out the most, since we make milk, and that's why farmer Jonathan wanted to try this new technique. I was born on July 21, 2010, and everyone in my family has a name that begins with "W."
Like my mother, I have a lot of distinctive white markings. And like every other cow in the herd, I'm a registered Jersey.
