Willa
Howmars Farm
Howmars Impuls Willa is my full name, but around here they call me Willa. I'm a registered Jersey, which means I'm a purebred with the papers to prove it, just like the rest of us here on Howmars Farm.
I was born not quite on the fourth of July, but July 3, 2008. My mother's name was Wildflower. I've got a lot of white markings on my coat, but one of my most distinctive characteristics is the backwards "7" on my forehead. Farmer Jonathan and his family toyed with the idea of calling me "Neves" ("seven" spelled backwards), but decided to stick with tradition and give me a "W" name. Everyone in my family tree has a name that starts with "W."
At the age of 2, I gave birth to my first calf, who was special in a lot of ways. Farmer Jonathan used a special process to almost guarantee I would give birth to a girl, and it worked! I was the first one on the farm to do this, so Jonathan thinks I'm pretty special, too.
I love milking and dinnertime, but I'm too polite to push my way to the front of the herd when it's time for us to head into the milking parlor. I mind my manners and wait for my turn.
Love Willa
