Choiniere Family Farm
Mathieu, my farmer's son, and I have a special relationship. I was born, March 13, 2003 and I was one of the first calves he cared for. At 2 weeks of age I used to follow Mathieu around the barn licking and nudging him with my nose trying to get him to play with me. As a Holstein calf I grew quickly, by 2 months of age Matt was following me! I was too big to be roaming around the barn by myself.
Now I am part of the milking herd, but I am still loyal. When my farmers bring me to and from pasture, I stick right by their side. Most of the other cows walk right past them. Matt thinks it's because I am just looking to get my head scratched. Maybe I've gotten a little spoiled!
