If you’ve been following along with our Boston Marathon series, you know this year we’re thrilled to have the Stonyfield team running in support of Girls on the Run – a national program that inspires girls 3rd-8th grade to be healthy and confident using a running curriculum. We’re so excited to be working with strong women to help future strong women get their feet on the ground early!

“Girls on the Run envision a world where all girls know and can activate their limitless potential,” said Suzanna McCloskey, Girls on the Run spokesman. “During the program, girls learn critical skills to navigate their lives with joy and confidence. And by completing the 5k that concludes the program, they experience, firsthand, that big things are possible when you keep moving forward,” she added.

Why does Stonyfield care about getting girls into running? Our mission is all about healthy food, healthy people and a healthy planet. And being healthy is about more than just getting calcium and protein from our organic yogurt. It’s about being healthy inside and out and that includes exercise and feeling good about yourself. It’s easier to keep those healthy habits, the earlier you begin. That’s why programs like Girls on the Run are so important.

Some of Team Stonyfield’s runners have their Girls on the Run fundraising pages up and ready to go. If you want to help support Girls on the Run, you can donate to individual team Stonyfield runners’ pages – some of the links are below and we’ll share more when we have them!
