Get outside with your baby with these fun ideas

Spring has sprung – it’s time to get outside! Now that my favorite season is finally here, I know I’m not the only mom out there excited to spend all my days outside soaking up that sun & breathing in some fresh air with my little man. Winter in Philadelphia with a one year old {while pregnant with baby #2 on the way}, was pretty rough this year so we have a whole list of fun things planned that are all meant to be enjoyed outdoors! Here are a few of our favorite things to do with the littles during the spring & summer months – feel free to share your go-to outdoor activities:

  1. Have a Picnic – Grab a few of your favorite snacks, {like a yogurt pouch perhaps?} a big comfy blanket and set up shop with some friends enjoying a meal outside on the grass. Depending on how old your kids are you can even pack some fun picnic games too. Every kid loves rolling around in the grass and with the right amount of space any mom can relax a bit too!
  2. Hit up the Zoo – My little man LOVES the zoo. He loves to people watch and there are always some fun activities planned for the little ones. I love walking around, getting my exercise and checking out the animals. I’ve always loved the zoo so this is a treat for me too! We hit it up weekly!
  3. Ride the Carousel – In Philadelphia there are a few carousel options to take advantage of and Brooks loves each and every one of them! They are great fun for kids of all ages.
  4. Splash around in the pool – My little man loves the pool and I do too! It’s such a fun way to get some energy out and enjoy the sun, with lots of sunscreen of course.Child running
  5. Spend the day at the park – I love organizing a play date for the littles {and the mamas}. It’s great fun when the babes have buddies to play with and the mamas have someone to chat with. Brooks loves going down the slides and catching the breeze on a swing – and I love watching him run around with a huge smile on his face the whole time!
  6. Try out Stroller Strides – When Brooks was little we went to our local Stroller Strides all the time. It’s a workout group for mamas where you get to bring your baby {in the stroller} and the whole exercise routine is organized around the stroller. It’s a great way to sweat and burn some calories – I can’t wait to do it again now that the weather is nice!
  7. Walk the Dog – If you are a pet owner this one goes without saying, but I know it’s an extra excuse to load up the stroller and take a few extra walks each day as we let the dog out! Such a simple way to spend some extra time outdoors.

I’ve shared a few of my favorite ways we get outside, now it’s your turn!

What are your favorite outdoor activities to do with your little one in tow? Please share!
