Dear Friends,
What a tremendous kick-off we’ve had this year with Sweetitude. It has only been a few months but it seems fitting that we give a quick recap of some of our Sweetest moments. (Naturally!)
It may seem a bit anticlimactic to present one of the most incredible aspects of Sweetitude first, BUT I can’t keep it in!!! … WE ARE ALL A PART OF SWEETITUDE!
I mean really, truly Sweetitude wouldn’t be much of anything if it weren’t for each of us doing our part. From naturally sweet actions, Tweets, Facebook post/links, and blogs to even the unseen, unheard Sweetitude moments, all the things that you do to join us are proof that we are all a part of Team Sweetitude!
It is astounding that through one tremendous campaign we could literally start to change the culture that we each live in; each of us using our own circles of influence to better the world around us.
Kicking off this phenomenal journey was our “Greatest Ambassador of Natural Sweetness”, Dear Ole’ Grandma. She and the Stonyfield news reporter unknowingly paved the way for something that is way bigger than any one person…we now know it as SWEETITUDE!
From there, we sent it out to the streets to me (The Sweetitude Dude), and from that moment on it has been all about every single one of you the…Sweetitude Team! We saw people willing to buy/give their lunch on the spot. We saw professional body builders giving free workout sessions 5 minutes before meetings. We saw construction workers giving high-fives to cheer up a co-worker. It was a perfect launch to get the buzz going about Sweetitude.
At this very moment there are over 21,000 entries of Sweetitude! This truly is remarkable. More than 21,000 of you have shared what naturally sweet means to you.
Lisa told us that Sweetitude means…“Being told on Christmas Day that you are going to be a grandma..Again!!!!!” That is incredible and congratulations to you and your family. Ava gave us her cute Tweet and said… “My husband’s sweet kisses #Sweetitude.” @DoloresAdair says “Giving my employees the last week of the year off with pay #Sweetitude.” Go Dolores!!! There is literally no-end to all of the ways Sweetitude can be implemented.
Quick question for you, what do you get when you put one Sweetitude Dude, 35 young people dressed up like sweet ole’ grannies and a huge refrigerator truck filled with Stonyfield 100 Calorie Yogurt in the middle of New York City? Well…the correct answer would be mayhem! Ha! But we would have also accepted the answer: SWEETITUDE: NYC!!!
From Grannies giving free skating lessons at the Rockefeller Center ice rink, to Granny Rockettes-style dancing in the middle of Times Square, and from Grannies passing out free yogurt at Herald and Union Squares to a cameo appearance on the Sunday morning NBC Today Show, we made sure that NYC knew what Sweetitude was all about, and even more importantly, that they would pass it on to others. In a city that has over 8 million people living in it, a little Natural Sweetness can go a long way.
Most recently, we carried-out a little mission that we like to call “Operation Sweetitude: Christmas Tree Drop”. The amazing Amy posted a blog asking who is the most naturally sweet person or family that was in need of Christmas tree this year. And WOW, what beautiful responses were given. Yet as some of you responders wrote, there was one family that was just the right fit. Carol Hounsell nominated her incredible husband Mark for the tree this year. Unfortunately, due to some health complications Mark’s doctor isn’t allowing him to work and therefore he wouldn’t be able to fulfill his family tradition of taking his wife and 2 boys out to a Christmas tree farm to cut down their own tree. So, the Sweetitude Team stepped in, went to a local Christmas tree farm and found the perfect tree for them. We then drove all the way up to North Conway, New Hampshire to hand deliver the tree with a tree stand, lights and decorations included. It really was a very special time for everyone involved.
Be sure to check out the video: Operation Sweetitude: Christmas Tree Drop.
Out of the thousands of #Sweetitude entries, some are epically brave, some are creative, some are gut splitting funny, others are downright…teary-eyed…heart-warmers. We cannot thank you enough. Moreover, we can’t get enough. We want to hear them all!
So be sure to leave your own Sweetitude moments at www.sweetitude.com. There are still 62 days worth of prizes to giveaway (and a Grand Prize ski trip to Okemo!) Plus, feel free to give us more creative ways to pass on some natural acts of sweetness.
2012 is going to be even naturally sweeter and we’re sooo glad that WE are all on this journey together. Keep that Natural Sweetness flowing. …I can’t wait to Hear/See/Be a part of it all. Ready…GO!
Sincerely,
The Sweetitude Dude
