While most of the conversations here at Stonyfield seem to center around delicious organic food, we do get to other things – including exchanging tips on how to live a more environmentally sustainable lifestyle. Our milk is organic and healthy!

Looking for another reason to feel good about choosing organic dairy? You’re in luck. A recent study published by Chuck Benbrook of Washington State University now suggests that choosing around four servings of full-fat organic dairy a day may help to improve your balance of essential fatty acids. The New York Times is calling it “the most clear-cut instance of an organic food’s offering a nutritional advantage over its conventional counterpart.”

The sheer volume of yogurt consumed here requires all kinds of creative mixing-in to keep things fresh. And nothing could be fresher than the perfect DIY granola.

Until I started working at Stonyfield, I never really considered the rest of the cup’s life – where it truly started or ended. Choose Organic for Kids

After our oldest son was born and began eating solid foods, we made the choice to feed him as much organic food as we could, and while we didn’t know all of the reasons to choose organic, we only needed one – pesticides.

As a parent, you want to make sure your children eat safe, healthy foods, not ones covered in deadly toxins.

There are lots of reasons for choosing to eat organic, but one of the most compelling is that organic farmers don’t use toxic persistent pesticides and that’s better for all of us. That doesn’t mean they don’t use other strategies to keep pests from destroying their crops, they just go about it in a safer way.

Stonyfield zen cow

Grab a cup of Stonyfield, close your eyes and picture this – a patchwork of green fields somewhere in the northernmost part of Vermont dotted with happy black and white Holstein cows – a little calf somewhere among them – lazily nibbling on alfalfa and clover. Can you hear their soft, contented mooing?
