Let’s Give Them Something to Talk About
USA Today
USA Today published an article on Earth Day exploring various company giveaways (April 22, 2010). Though the article notes the irony that most giveaways included “stuff” that required natural resources to make, it also points out that Stonyfield’s giveaway was an MP3 music download that asked people to share an Earth Day resolution. Our CE-Yo Gary Hirshberg says, “We wanted to motivate people to do more than act on Earth Day…We wanted to get people talking about their plans.”

Our YoBaby packaging recently appeared on Good Morning America—taking the stage intermittently for almost seven minutes (April 22, 2010)! The segment features natural ways to heal and strengthen the immune system. He mentions that pregnant women who consume organic dairy have children with fewer allergies.
Fewer Burps = Less Emission
CNN
Stonyfield Vice President of Natural Resources Nancy Hirshberg was recently featured on a CNN broadcast (as well as on CNN’s website) discussing the Stonyfield Greener Cow Project (April 7,2010). Nancy tells viewers about how Stonyfield is trying to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by decreasing cow burps. She explains that feeding them cooked flax rebalances their stomachs and they burp less—thus producing less methane. Nancy explains that the milk from cows eating flax also contains a higher omega-3 content.
Grocery Cart Smarts
American Baby
Get smart with your cart—and purchase Stonyfield YoBaby yogurt, suggests American Baby (April 2010). An article titled “Grocery Cart Smarts” lays out healthy food options for parents—as many new products that are assumed to be healthy are actually loaded with sugar, fat, etc. For yogurt, American Baby suggests readers buy YoBaby because it is “high in good bacteria and not overdone in the sugar department.”
