Spring Crafts Made Easy with Recyclables

Valerie Deneen, of www.frugalfamilyfunblog.com, recently made an appearance on the Philly 10! Show featuring crafts made out of recycled Stonyfield packaging (May 3, 2011). Valerie brought a breath of spring air into the studio – turning Stonyfield milk cartons into bird feeders and Stonyfield yogurt cups into herb gardens. She also told viewers about our Organic Moment campaign – and suggested everyone take a minute to share their organic stories with the world.
YoKids - Best Yogurt for Kids!

Over 1,000 readers voted in this year’s Kiwi Magazine Best Kid Food Awards (May 2011). Who swept first place for best Kids Yogurt? You guessed right – YoKids Organic Yogurt is the number one voted yogurt for kids! Stonyfield YoBaby yogurt took a high ranking spot on the list as well. According to editors, both YoKids and YoBaby are "snacks that kids love and parents can feel good about."

While explaining organizational tips and tricks, Lisa also told readers that Stonyfield is one of her favorite companies, and she enjoys signing up for coupons through the Stonyfield newsletter.

Toothbrushes made out of yogurt cups? Sounds like an odd concept, but one local New England Company is making it a successful reality. The Boston Globe recently featured an article about Preserve in their Sunday “Innovation Economy” section (March 20, 2011). The article mentions a popular reusable travel cup that Preserve made for a Stonyfield promotion whereby consumers could mail in four yogurt lids to receive the free travel cup.

Judges included several nutritionists and nutrition consultants who appreciate the “great taste” of Oikos as well as the fact that a portion of profits are used to support environmental programs.

Grass-Fed Cows Emit Less Methane

An article in Mother Earth News titled, “Grass-Fed Cows Emit Less Methane” explains the benefit of increasing pasture days and grass consumption in dairy cows (January 2011). The article mentions that Stonyfield is piloting a program which increases cows’ intake of alfalfa, flax, and other plants high in omega-3s which has been proving to reduce the cows’ greenhouse gas emissions.
