Goods & Services Buyer
Define and implement the sourcing and supplier strategies for predefined and agreed upon goods and services markets. This job is responsible for either direct management or indirect support of commercial relationships with all goods and services suppliers. Will lead and drive initiatives that will improve quality, service, environmental and cost measures for goods and services delivered to Stonyfield. This position will also be the business process owner for SAP business processes covering direct and indirect purchases and materials procurement.
•Actively contribute to the construction and management of the strategy for goods and services, making sure business needs and specifications are taken into account. Drive market strategy development through scope definition and support assessments. Purchasing will take either a direct, support or minimal role in different markets based upon need, possible contribution (value add) and business risk.
•Business process lead for direct and indirect purchases as well as materials procurement. Maintain business processes and documents provide training for key users, and assess new business process or system requests.
•Builds market and service/product functional analyses in-line with company objectives and reports strategy to executive team or primary internal customer.
•Manages supplier negotiation in line with category strategy and budget. Build new supply agreements (contracts) or revise existing supply agreements.
•Guarantees security of supply: risk management control analysis and quality/supply delay mitigation strategies.
•Day-to-day supplier relationship management and bringing forward/capturing innovative ideas and solutions under the SSD (Sourcing and Supplier Development) principles.
•Responsible for all aspects of food safety and quality as defined in plant and department procedures
•Maintains all pricing in SAP for indirect spends assigned to SSD. Provides estimates and forecasts for G&S cost saving projects. Expected project savings of $700K - $1.5M/year.
•Travel inlcudes: Domestic Travel 10% and Internation Travel - minimal.
•Minimum BS, with MBA preferred (Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or Eng.)
•2-3 years purchasing or other areas (Supply Chain, Finance, R&D, Operations, etc.)
•Rigorous data driven/analytical capability and present data to a leadership level.
•Able to see the big picture – create the vision.
•Team player: collaborative, ability to motivate/animate, networking
•Project management skills & project leadership skills a must.
•Curious, open minded, and adapts easily.
•Ability to operate in a team environment
•Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints
•Ability to adapt in a changing work environment
•SAP or comparable business systems solutions knowledge
