It's "TV-Turnoff Week"--so flip the switch

Every year about this time, when TV Turnoff Week rolls around, I wonder why this noble cause doesn't get more attention.

Here they've compiled a list of the latest research regarding television viewing habits, where we learn that the average American watches 4 hours of television EVERY DAY! Most alarming is the fact that the average 1-year-old in America watches 6 hours of television a week. For the record, the American Pediatric Association recommends ZERO hours of television per week for children age 2 and under.

The TV-Turnoff Network has compiled a Take Action section for parents to learn ways to help limit their children's tv viewing and become more "screen free".
