The National Child Nutrition Reauthorization Bill
Stonyfield Farm is supporting positive changes in the child nutrition reauthorization law to ensure that millions of children have improved access to nutritious food. Organizations such as the Food Research and Action Center are advocating that priorities for this year's Child Nutrition reauthorization include: giving families access to nutritious food for their children in safe and nurturing environments and enhancing the nutritional environment to promote healthy eating habits.

The Food Research and Action Center (FRAC) always has up-to-date information on the Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act. Check FRAC's web site for an update on the issue, legislative hearings, and house and senate votes.

The Milwaukee Principles were set out to establish guidelines about how pubic schools should partner with private corporations. They are endorsed by several national organizations and many individual states.

Healthy Schools In Washington
The Center for Nutrition at the University of Washington developed a comprehensive web site that offers resources for enhancing the nutrition and physical activity environment for students. This website offers tools for various constituencies: students, parents, teachers and school administrators, schools boards/districts, and communities.

Changing the Scene - Improving the School Nutrition Environment
The USDA created this tool kit, which addresses the entire school nutrition environment from a commitment to nutrition and physical activity, pleasant eating experiences, quality school meals, other healthy food options, nutrition education, and marketing the issue to the public. The kit includes a variety of tools for use at the local level to raise awareness and address school environment issues that influence students' eating and physical activity practices. The kit was developed with input from 16 education, nutrition and health organizations.
