Stonyfield Farm In the News
Media Hits 2006

2008 | 2007 | 2006

Inc. magazine’s listing of the “Green 50” features Gary as of its “pioneers.” The entire list is “a collection of entrepreneurial companies that are showing what it means to run good businesses, attack the most pressing problems of our time—and make serious cash along the way.” Couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
In an article called Health Made Easy(ish): Little age proofing tips with really big payoffs (Dec 2006/Jan 2007), More magazine suggests eating yogurt to banish bloating, and specifically recommends eating a cup a day of Stonyfield Farm yogurt because it contains six different types of bacteria. Yup, we knew that, too.
Stonyfield Farm was named "Dairy Processor of the Year" by Dairy Field magazine, the leading industry trade publication. The issue announcing the award featured a plant tour, an overview of the company and an interview with President and CE-Yo Gary Hirshberg.
In USA Today (Dec. 14, 2006) cover story More Americans clean their plates of ‘bad’ food, Stonyfield Farm’s new Shift energy drink is spotlighted as a food-maker response to the changing health attitudes of Americans. As Gary says, “Food shouldn’t just be less-bad for you. It should be good for you.” This article is currently in syndication, but so far the estimated audience is over 2.4 million.
One of the two experts featured in Supermarket Sampler ranks Stonyfield Farm Organic Vanilla Chai Ice Cream as her top favorite food pick of 2006.
Health (Dec 2006) lists Stonyfield Farm yogurt as “the only brand sold in the United States that contains” L. reuteri in a chart that explains which “bugs to the rescue” will cure what ails you. The chart is an accompaniment to It’s Alive! How eating bacteria can keep you going strong.
An article called The Bug Stops Here  in Men’s Health magazine (Dec 2006) recommends eating a “daily helping of one of the yogurts made by Stonyfield Farm” to help “lay down healthy bacteria in the GI tract” and prevent getting sick.
Real Simple magazine’s November issue included a “road test” of vanilla ice creams, with our Gotta Have Vanilla winning as Best Organic.
Prevention’s September 2006 issue features Brown Cow with Fruit & Whole Grains.  That’s a mag with a 3.3 million circulation, numbers we like very much, thank you.
Body + Soul magazine (Sept 2006) calls Stonyfield Farm an “environmental standout” for our commitment to the planet — our solar panel array and ‘green’ practices earned us a true rave.
One picture is worth a thousand words, right? Men’s Health (Sept. 2006) had a great photo accompanying a piece called Think your way to thin.* (p. 132) The shot is of a fridge, from the inside looking out, and tucked up on the top shelf, to the right….a 6 ounce Stonyfield low-fat yogurt.

Child Magazine’s May 2006 issue explores how yogurt — already a ‘good-for-you’ food — is getting even healthier these days. Spotlighted in text and in a color photo is YoBaby Plus Fruit ‘n Cereal with DHA.
