From Yogurt Cups to Razors and Toothbrushes

Stonyfield Farm has teamed up with Recycline, maker of environmental-friendly personal care products, to make razors and toothbrushes from our recycled yogurt cups. Recycline’s Preserve® Razor and Preserve® Toothbrush handles are made from 100% recycled plastic-- at least 65% of which comes from Stonyfield Farm yogurt cups gathered through our cup recycling efforts. And, they’re recyclable! That’s right, when you’re ready for a new one, just mail your used razor handle or toothbrush to Recycline to be recycled into plastic lumber—giving our yogurt cups a third life! We’re always willing to partner with like-minded companies that offer consumers products that promote good health and who also show their support for environmental preservation. It’s important for us to be involved in this project as it demonstrates the extent of what companies can do to take responsibility for their products, from design to disposal.

A Note About Stonyfield Farm’s Recycling Program:
With polypropylene #5 plastic packaging, we use significantly less plastic than we would if our cups were HDPE #2 plastic. Some communities, however, don’t recycle #5 containers. If you are out of ways to reuse your Stonyfield Farm yogurt cups, and if #5 plastic recycling isn’t available in your area, you can send your CLEAN Stonyfield Farm cups to us, and we’ll be sure they’ll get recycled.
