Earth Actions Celebrate Organic

Organic Breakfast.What We Do
Stonyfield Farm Celebrates Organic Harvest Month
Each year our Organic Team, an interdepartmental group that meets regularly to monitor Stonyfield Farm’s organic compliance and improve practices, hosts an organic breakfast for all employees. Whether it’s for the bleary eyed third shift crew ending their night of cleaning and preparing the plant for the day’s production, or the first shift coming in at dawn to start the process of making the yogurt, one of the favorite events of the year for all employees is the organic breakfast! Imagine long buffet tables with blueberry pancakes, cheese and sautéed vegetable omelets, home fried potatoes, fruit, toast, muffins, cinnamon buns, coffee, tea, apple and orange juice, fruit, bacon, sausage, jams and butter (and of course yogurt) and EVERYTHING IS ORGANIC! As one filling machine operator said “it's like being on a Caribbean cruise – but organic!”

Tasty junk food at school has become a magnet for kids across the nation, encouraging nutrition choices that hurt kids now and build unhealthy habits for the long run. The Organic Lunchbox Challenge is something simple you can do to provide your children with delicious food that gives them energy for today and builds healthy, vibrant bodies for tomorrow. Adding at least one healthy organic food in your child’s lunch or snack every day could make a big difference for our children and our environment. What Others Do

What Others Do As the harvest season reaches its peak, we are grateful to the many farmers who work hard everyday to bring us the rich organic bounty!

When you buy our organic products, you can feel good knowing that the organic strawberries, blueberries, milk, vanilla, maple syrup, sugar, cocoa, bananas, peaches and other organic ingredients that go into Stonyfield Farm organic products, were grown “organically”. That means the farmers used methods of pest, disease and weed control that don’t release toxins into our air and water. Standards for humane treatment of the cows were followed including access to outdoors and pasture. No genetically engineered organisms were used.

Organic Harvest month is a good time for us all to re-new our commitment to organic farming and organic products!

We want to hear from moo!

HeartLove Letters
Each month, we like to share an e-mail from one of our yogurt lovers. Here’s one from one of our four-legged friends. Keep the fan mail coming!

"Hi, my name is Gingersnap; I am a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog here in San Jose, CA. I really, really like your whole milk plain yougie, however I do have to fight for the cream at the top with my mommy. I guess its OK since she is the one that goes and buys it. I hear it is very good for my tummy, in more ways than one. I would love to try all your flavors but I have to watch my sugar intake. Again thank you for such a lip smackin yougie."
