"Moos" from the Farm
Here's all the "moos" that's fit to print!
Organic Saved!
The last "moosletter" reported on the successful efforts of a large
Georgia poultry operation to undermine the national organic standards by convincing
their legislators to get a section added into the 2003 federal spending budget
that would allow livestock producers to label their meat, milk, and eggs as
organic, even if they were not fed organic feed. We're pleased to report that
thanks to the efforts of many of our readers, and overwhelming support from
Senators and Representatives in Washington, Congress repealed the rider that
weakened organic livestock feeding requirements. Read more here!
